Nonwhites who are too old to leave would be allowed to stay, as they were past childbearing age and did not present an obstacle to long-term racial homogeneity.
Johnson imagined that black Americans could be employed to help the transition. He wrote, "Because of their physical abilities, the blacks would be the ideal enforcers. Johnson attempted to garner support for his amendment among members of Congress and the public at large, mailing copies of his book to state and federal legislators. The Aryan Nations' now deceased leader, Richard Butler , wrote a hearty endorsement of Johnson's book that was featured on its dustcover. In April , Johnson ran in a Casper, Wyo. Johnson was explicit about his white nationalism during the campaign, telling The Associated Press, "Whites don't have a future here in this country, and that is … one of many issues that I am addressing.
